St. Luke’s congregation believes strongly in each one using their God given gifts to build up the church and make an impact in the community to reach the lost and provide the all-important fellowship for discipleship.  It is with that in mind that all are encouraged to participate in the many service opportunities provided by this congregation.

What Opportunities does St. Luke’s offer to be able to serve or to be served?

Service Opportunities in ministry are ever expanding to reflect the needs of our church family and our community.

Teaching

Sunday school, Confirmation, Vacation Bible School, High School Bible Studies, Adult Bible studies and Small Group Studies

Worship Enhancement/Assistance

Many people are required to help enhance the worship experience and keep the worship services running smoothly; Greeters, Ushers, Nursery staff, Acolytes, Organists, Scripture Readers, Deliver Children’s Message, Sound and Media Assistants, Chancel (altar) Care, Information Kiosk Attendants

Music

Vocal choirs, solos, ensembles, handbell choirs, praise teams, instrumentals

Fellowship

Sunday morning coffee servers, event planners, set-up/take down for events, cook or kitchen help

Communications

To members and our community, Website assistance, Photography, Writing

Human Care

One on one special care through trained Stephen Ministers, meals provision, transportation, PADS Site (Public Action to Deliver Shelter), home visitation, facilitate health fairs, blood drives, food collections

Maintenance

Provide care for our grounds and buildings

Prayer

Prayer groups, Staffing prayer room, write or speak prayers, plan prayer events

Outreach

Plan and/or facilitate neighborhood events, call on 1st time visitors, plan mission trips, neighborhood canvassing

Technology

Computer/hardware/software maintenance, networking, technology planning, phone system

Office Assistance

Volunteer help for both the church and school – telephone attendant, data entry, media and mailings assembly

Youth Ministry

Youth mentoring, leadership, plan and/or chaperone events, Bible studies 

Leadership Opportunities

We welcome you to use your gifts in the various areas of leadership necessary for the church to continue in an organized manner.

  • Board Chairs: Mission/Ministries, Family Life, School Ministry
  • Committee Chairs: There are 22 Committee Chair positions

God has given you gifts and talents that are to be shared with the church and we welcome the opportunity to help you identify those gifts and use them is service to His kingdom.
